What is Chin Reshaping Surgery?

Chin reshaping surgery is performed to either augment or reduce the chin size. Chin reshaping surgery improves the contour of the jawline, corrects disproportionate appearance of facial features allowing for a more balanced look.

Preparing for Surgery

1. Online and in-person consultations will be made to examine the patient, assess the medical history and to discuss the patient's expectations.
2. The doctor will make note of allergies, chronic diseases and regular medications used by the patient.
3. Blood tests will be carried out before the operation.
4. The anesthesist will have a consultation with the patient.

The Surgical Process

For chin augmentation, a small incision is made under the chin or orally to allow room for the chin implant. The implant is placed to the surrounding of the chin bone. The operation usually takes less than 1 hour and is performed under general or local anesthesia.

For chin reduction, excess chin bones will be removed and contoured accordingly.

The Post-Operative Process

• Hospital admission is not required.
• During first few days after surgery, you will need to follow a liquid and soft food diet.
• Bruising and swelling is normal for 10 days after the operation.
• Pain and discomfort are minimal and can be managed with painkillers.
• You may get back to work and resume most daily activites within 1 week after surgery.
• The surgeon will be available for online and in-person consultations after the surgery for necessary follow-ups.
