What is Vaginoplasty?
Vaginoplasty is plastic surgery that aims to tighten the vagina that has become saggy due to aging or childbirth. Patients who after childbirth have considerably decreased pleasure during sexual intercourse and if their partner feels the same, patients who complain of the sound of passing gas in the vagina during intercourse or even when sitting down, standing up or exercising are candidates for vaginoplasty.
Preparing for Surgery
- Online and in-person consultations will be made to examine the patient, assess the medical history and to discuss the patient's expectations.
- The doctor will make note of allergies, chronic diseases and regular medications used by the patient.
- Blood tests will be carried out before the operation.
- The anesthesist will have a consultation with the patient.
- The patient is advised to quit smoking before surgery.
The Surgical Process
The surgery takes place under general anesthesia and lasts approximately 1.5 hours. During the operation the inner lining and especially muscles of the vaginal wall are tigthened.
Vaginoplasty entails reduction of the inner lips, elimination of the saggy appearance of the outer lips, augmentation of the outer lips and Venus Hill with fat injection and liposuction applied to Venus Hill to prevent the area from protruding.
The Post-Operative Process
- Swelling and mild pain is expected for a few days after surgery.
- You may get back to work 1 week after surgery.
- Loose undergarments and clothing must be worn after surgery.
- The surgeon will be available for online and in-person consultations after the surgery for necessary follow-ups.
