What is Gynecomastia Surgery?
Gynecomastia surgery refers to male breast reduction surgery. Male patients pursue gynecomastia surgery as a result of embarassment caused by enlarged breast tissue due to hormonal changes, weight gain or use of some types of steroids.

Preparing for Surgery
- Online and in-person consultations will be made to examine the patient, assess the medical history and to discuss the patient's expectations.

- The doctor will make note of allergies, chronic diseases and regular medications used by the patient.
- Blood tests will be carried out before the operation.
- The anesthesist will have a consultation with the patient.
- The patient should quit smoking and avoid alcohol a few weeks before surgery.
- Patients must stop taking Aspirin and all other blood thinners, Omega 3 supplements and herbal teas.
The Surgical Process
The surgery may be performed through liposuction, excision or both. The operation requires general anesthesia and lasts 2-3 hours.
The Post-Operative Process
- Swelling and some mild pain is expected for a few days after surgery.
- A supportive garment will be worn after the operation.
- You may get back to work 1 week after surgery.
- Loose undergarments and clothing must be worn after surgery.
